End-to-end email encryption is still ignored by almost all users. The emails are left in the clear in the mailboxes of the web email providers, where they are frequently collected by attackers and lead to an escalation of the attack due to the sensitivity of the email content. We suggest a new and simplified infrastructure to protect email that is compatible with OpenPGP and S/MIME and relies on an easy-to-use trust model without a central administration.

About Marcus Brinkmann Marcus is part of the free software community since 1997, when he joined the Debian project. Probably best known for his past work on GNU/Hurd, he also has a diploma degree in mathematics and is employed by g10 Code GmbH to work on the GnuPG cryptography toolchain since 2001.
